The 2024–25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague will be the 25th season of the modern era of the EuroLeague, and the 15th under the title sponsorship of Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this will be the 68th season of the premier basketball competition for European men's clubs. The season will begin on 3 October 2024 and will end on 25 May 2025 with the Final Four.[1]
For the fourth straight season, CSKA Moscow had their EuroLeague license rescinded following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[2]
This will be the second straight season under the new format with the play-in tournament for seventh- to tenth-placed teams in the regular season.
Panathinaikos AKTOR are the defending champions.
Teams
[edit]Team changes (pre-season)
[edit]A total of 18 teams will participate in the league, including 17 teams from the 2023–24 season and one promoted from the 2023–24 EuroCup.[1]
On April 12, 2024, Paris Basketball achieved its first continental crown by winning its first EuroCup title after it swept Mincidelice JL Bourg in an almost perfect season with 22 wins and only one loss balance that earned the right to play in the league. It will be the debut season of the team from the French capital in the European top flight.[3] On the other hand, Valencia Basket was relegated to EuroCup after a two-year stay in the European top league.[4]
